Domestic Partnership Referendum Attempt Fails

Great news!

We just got wind that anti-gay groups have FAILED to meet the minimum requirement of 55,179 signatures needed to force a public vote on Oregon’s Domestic Partnership law. They missed the threshold by 116 signatures. We’re still waiting for word on the Anti-Discrimination law.

I just broke the news on my site a bit ago too….it’s so exciting that we need to spread the news far and wide! Giant hugs to everyone.

    One-hundred and sixteen signatures.

Never think you can’t make a difference.
Did we help change 117 minds? We might not know, but I’d say it’s a darn good bet we did :)

Regardless of this initiative failing, I think we need to still make sure that those people who signed are posted on this site. This will be a strong message to those out there who wish to mount other anti-equality initiatives.

They bigots actually lost 400 signatures due to ONE double signature in Polk County, this is the reason. If they didn’t have that ONE double signature it would be on the ballot.
